Alien Amigurumi Pattern

Finished Size: 3.5-4 inches 


Materials:
  • Caron Simply Soft: Limelight
  • size F (3.75mm) crochet hook 

  • 9mm black safety eyes 

  • stuffing
  • yarn needle 


Instructions:
HEAD
Start with a magic ring. 

Ch 1, 6 sc in ring. 

2 sc in ea st around. (12) 

(2 sc in next st, sc in next st)around. (18) 

(2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts)around. (24) 

(2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts)around. (30) 

Sc in ea st around for 4 rounds. 
(Sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts)around. (24) 

Sc in ea st around for 2 rounds. 

(Sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts)around. (18) 
Attach safety eyes.
Begin stuffing and continue stuffing until fastening off. 

(Sc2tog, sc in next st)around. (12) 

Sc2tog around. (6) 

Fasten off. 


BODY
Start with a magic ring. 

Ch 1, 6 sc in ring. 

2 sc in ea st around. (12) 

(2 sc in next st, sc in next st)around. (18)

Sc in ea st around for 4 rounds.

Start with a magic ring. 

Ch 1, 4 sc in ring.
2 sc in ea st around. (8)

Fasten off, leaving a length of yarn for sewing.  


ASSEMBLY
Arms and legs do not require stuffing. 

Sew head to body by aligning the corresponding stitches and sewing them to one another.
Sew arms to body.
Attach legs, checking every so often as you are sewing to make sure that the alien sits upright.

Ant Amigurumi Pattern


ANT
FINISHED SIZE: 4.5 inches

MATERIALS:
Lion Brand Wool-Ease (Sienna)
small amount of black yarn
size G crochet hook stuffing
yarn needle

HEAD:
Start with a magic ring.
Ch1, 6 sc in ring.
2 sc in ea st around. (12)
(2 sc in next st, sc in next st)around. (18)
Sc in ea st around for 3 rounds.
(Sc2tog, sc in next st)around. (12)
Sc2tog, sc in next 8 sts, sc2tog. (10)
Stuff.
Sc2tog around. (5)
Fasten off.
Draw yarn through remaining sts and pull tight.

THORAX:
Start with a magic ring.
Ch 1, 6 sc in ring.
2 sc in ea st around. (12)
Sc in blo of ea st around.
Sc in ea st around.
Sc2tog in blo of ea st around. (6)
Fasten off.
Draw yarn through remaining sts and pull tight.

ABDOMEN:
Start with a magic ring.
Ch 1, 6 sc in ring.
2 sc in ea st around. (12)
(2 sc in next st, sc in next st)around. (18)
Sc in ea st around for 3 rounds.
(Sc2tog, sc in next 7 sts)twice. (16)
(Sc2tog, sc in next 6 sts)twice. (14)

Sc2tog until 3 sts remain.
Fasten off and draw yarn through remaining sts.

LEGS:
Attach yarn to the side of the ant's thorax and anchor with a ch st.
Ch 9. Turn. Sl st in second ch from hook and in next 7 chains.
*Sl st in joining space. Ch 9. Skipping the first ch, sl st in next 8 sts.
Repeat from * once.
Fasten off and secure yarn ends.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew the bulkier end of the head to one end of the thorax, and sew the bulkier end of the abdomen to the other end of the thorax.
Embroider eyes on either side of head.
Create two antennae between the ant's eyes as follows:
Attach yarn and anchor with a ch st.

Ch 5. Turn. Sl st in second ch from hook and in next 3 chains.
Fasten off and secure it to the head.

Scrapmonster Pattern

SCRAPMONSTER
This pattern is so simple, I almost didn't bother posting it. Personally, I think there is room for MUCH improvement on this particular design. When I made it, I was just kind of flying by the seat of my pants. So, definitely feel free to experiment with this one. You will most likely end up with a better, or, at least more unique, finished product than the one in the photo here.


FINISHED SIZE: ~13 inches tall

MATERIALS:
(NOTE: This pattern is meant to allow you to use up leftover yarn - basically, it's meant to be that project that keeps you from needing to go to the store for more materials. However, for the sake of being as specific as possible in describing the pattern that resulted in the given photo, I have written the pattern up with the materials I used to create it.)
Lion Brand Jiffy: Fisherman (A), Apple Green (B), Grass Green (C), Aqua (D), Heather Blue (E), Bone (F)

Crochet hook size J
stuffing
12mm black safety eyes
yarn needle

ARM 1:
Using A, start with a magic ring.
Ch 1, 6 sc in ring.
2 sc in ea st around. (12)
(2 sc in next st, sc in next st)around. (18)

*Switch to D.
Sc in ea st around for 2 rounds.
Switch to E.
Sc in ea st around for 2 rounds.

Stuff legs and sew closed across the rounds where F and C/E join.
Do not stuff the segment of color F.
Sew body closed across the round where F joins E.
Attach safety eyes.
Stuff and sew closed across the top.
Stuff arms and sew to body.
