10 INCH NEEDLE ROLL

Materials:


- worsted weight yarn

- size G (4mm) crochet hook

- yarn needle




Abbreviations:


ch = chain

sc = single crochet

tr = treble crochet

FLO = Front Loops Only

BLO = Back Loops Only

st / sts = stitch / stitches



 

Instructions:


 

ROLL

 


Ch 60.

R1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.

R2: (Ch 1 will count as first sc), skip first st, sc in FLO of each st across. Ch 1, turn.

R3: (Ch 1 will count as first sc), skip first st, sc in BLO of each st across. Ch 1, turn.

R4: Repeat R2.

R5: (Ch 1 will count as first sc), skip first st, sc in BLO of next 14 sts, [skip next st and tr in unworked front loop from 2 rounds below, sc in BLO next st, skip next st and tr in unworked front loop from 2 rounds below], sc in BLO of next 3 sts, repeat pattern in [ ]'s, sc in BLO of next 4 sts, repeat pattern in [ ]'s, sc in BLO of next 4 sts, repeat pattern in [ ]'s, sc in BLO of next 3 sts, repeat pattern in [ ]'s, sc in BLO of next 14 sts. Ch 1, turn.

Repeat R2-5 for pattern.

To finish, repeat R2-3.

Fasten off and weave in ends with yarn needle.

If you expand your knitting needle inventory, you can attach yarn where you last finished off and start again with the pattern to expand the roll to hold your new needles.


TIE


Make 2.

Begin by leaving a tail of at least 4 in / 10 cm and ch 174. Fasten off, leaving a tail of at least 4 in / 10 cm.

Attach yarn, leaving a tail of at least 4 in / 10 cm, and sl st in each ch across. Fasten off, leaving a tail of at least 4 in / 10 cm.

Tie ends with a knot and trim the yarn ends so they are even in length. Or, if you prefer, don't tie a knot and just weave in the ends.
