Place the two crocheted pendant pieces together with the wrong sides facing each other and right sides facing out. Working through sts on both pendant pieces, sl st, ch 1.

Working through sts on both pendant pieces, reverse sc in each sc around - however, make sure to place the penny inside before reaching the end of the round. In joining space: Sl st, ch 1, sl st, ch 1.

Chain until chain measures approximately 24.5 inches (or desired length) when laid flat.
In joining space: Sl st, ch 1, sl st, ch 1. Fasten off & weave in ends.

You could also use a ribbon instead of a crocheted chain. If you choose to do this, after you sl st twice in the joining space, work the following: Ch 10. In joining space: Sl st, ch 1, sl st, ch 1. (This will provide a loop through which to thread the ribbon.) Fasten off & weave in ends.
