- size I (5.5mm) crochet hook

BODY
Round 1: Starting with a MR, 6 sc into ring.
Round 2: 2 sc in ea st around. (12 sts)
Round 3: *(Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st), repeat from * around. (18 sts)
Round 4: *(Sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st), repeat from * around. (24 sts)
Round 5: *(Sc in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st), repeat from * around. (30 sts)
Round 6: *(Sc in each of next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st), repeat from * around. (36 sts)
Rounds 7-11: Sc in each st around.
Round 12: *(Dec, sc in each of next 4 sts), repeat from * around. (30 sts)
Rounds 13-14: Sc in each st around.
Round 15: *(Dec, sc in each of next 3 sts), repeat from * around. (24 sts)
Round 16: *(Sc in each of next 2 sts, Dec), repeat from * around. (18 sts)

Sl st in next st and F/O, leaving a tail of yarn for sewing.
Fill with stuffing.

Rounds 9-11: Sc in each st around.
Round 12: Sc in each of next 7 sts, 2 sc in each of next 3 sts, sc in each of next 4 sts, 2 sc in each of next 3 sts, sc in each of next 7 sts. (30 sts)
Round 13: Sc in each of next 8 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 8 sts. (34 sts)
Rounds 14-18: Sc in each st around.

Round 20: Sc in each st around.

At this point, secure the safety eyes in place and begin stuffing.
Continue stuffing until fastening off.

Sew head to body, using the length of yarn from the body segment.
Sew arms to body just beneath head.
Sew haunches to body just beneath arms.
Sew feet to haunches/body near the base of the amigurumi.
Sew tail to body.
Sew ears to head.
Sew wings to back of dragon's body.
With black yarn, embroider details.

ReplyDeleteI really loved this.! I found that I had to use a smaller hook to get the head to be a size I didn't find comically big. Still adorable and the one I made has gotten rave reviews thus far.!
