- bulky weight yarn; red (A), blue (B), white (C)

- size I (5.5mm) or J (6mm) crochet hook (or whichever hook size results in a stitch tight enough to keep stuffing from showing through)

- stuffing

- yarn needle

MR = Magic Ring

ch = chain

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

Inc = 2 sc in one stitch

Dec = sc2tog or invisible decrease

st / sts = stitch / stitches

F/O = Fasten Off




INSTRUCTIONS


 

ROCKET BODY


With Color A sc 4 into MR.

(Inc in next st, sc in next st)twice. (6)

(Inc in next st, sc in next st)three times. (9)

(Inc in next st, sc in next 2 sts)around. (12)

(Inc in next st, sc in next 2 sts)around. (16)

Switch to Color B.

Sc in ea st around.

(Inc in next st, sc in next 3 sts)around. (20)

(Inc in next st, sc in next 3 sts)around. (25)

Sc in ea st around for 6 rounds.

(Dec, sc in next 3 sts)around. (20)

Sc in ea st around.

Switch to Color A.

(Dec, sc in next 3 sts)around. (16)

(Dec, sc in next 2 sts)around. (12)

Add stuffing. Continue stuffing through remaining rounds.

Dec around. (6)

Dec around. (3)

F/O. Thread yarn through remaining sts and pull tight.


ENGINE NOZZLE


Make 4.

With Color A sc 5 into MR.

Inc in ea st around. (10)

Sc in BLO of ea st around.

Dec, sc in next 6 sts, Dec. (8)

Dec, sc in next 4 sts, Dec. (6)

Add stuffing.

Dec around. (3)

F/O. Thread yarn through remaining sts and pull tight.


WINDOWS


Make 2.

With Color C, ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook. Sl st in next st.

F/O, leaving a length of yarn for sewing.


ASSEMBLY


Sew engine nozzles to the base of the rocket.

Sew windows to sides of rocket.
